Michaelis a General Practitioner at Windsor in NSW, where he has practised since 1997.
He is also currently Clinical Advisor for the Nepean Blue Mountain Primary Health Network and the Director of Training, General Practice Pathway, Blacktown Hospital. Most recently, he was the Clinical Lead for the NSW Health Western Sydney Integrated Care Program, a partnership between Western Sydney Local Health District and Western Sydney Primary Health Network,
During his 30 years as a GP, he has been active in support of his profession, through the RACGP, WentWest, Nepean Blue Mountains PHNand numerous other organisations, with many and various roles in eHealth, immunisation, medical education, vaccine safety and integrated care.
Previously, he has beenClinical Director at Western Sydney Medicare Local and the Director of Training at WentWest Regional Training Provider in Blacktown, NSW. He has been WentWest’s Clinical Lead for its HealthPathways program.
His qualifications are MBBS (UNSW), FRACGP, DRANZCOG and Grad Dip Health Informatics (Monash U). In recognition of his work for General Practice, in 2014 he was named the 2014 RACGP GP of the Year.
